I’m working on it
While WordPress attentionwhore.org only goes back to June 2003, the actuality of a website goes back another 5 years to 1998. I’ve left these breadcrumbs all throughout the internet and archive.org and somewhere in October 1998 was what can be considered my first entry on a weblog, at the time hand edited in notepad.
I was 14.
That’s a lot of ground, a lot of change, a lot of immaturity followed by bouts of maturity. I think the cycle of posts very well depicts the aging process of teen to adult, so I’m not ashamed. It just doesn’t seem to suit me any longer.
I think I’ll keep attentionwhore.org for now, for sentimental reasons. And I’ll keep all these posts around as well.
But for now, I think I’ll head elsewhere. And wherever that will be can be found from courtneyjohnston.net

catchup!
Have you ever had one of those days that turned into one of those months, then it seems a whole quarter of the year has gone by and you’ve been everywhere and seen everything and no words can describe it?
So, since the last post…
-We did make it to Kansas City for Lake and Kari’s wedding. Beautiful!
-We went to Mt. Saint Helens.
-We bought a house in the suburbs.
-We toured the Olympic Peninsula and played on some amazing beaches.
-We spent a lovely weekend with friends in a cabin in Friday Harbor, WA.
-We went whale watching.
-I spent a lot of time sick.
-We saw CSS in concert.
-We saw Metallica in concert.
-We saw The Killers, Death Cab, Cold War Kids, and Shiny Toy Guns in concert.
-We saw Built to Spill in concert.
Oh…and we took 12 days and spent Thanksgiving in Japan. We went to Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima, and then spent 3 days with Megan and Ryan at their home in Gifu, Japan.
I think that about covers it.
I keep meaning to do something else with this place.

KC Visit
I’ll be in Kansas City from the 12th thru the 14th for my friend Lake’s wedding to the very cute and very sweet Kari.
I think I’ll recycle this dress I bought for Megan and Ryan’s wedding for the ceremony.
I should get in around 7, hang with Edward for awhile and sneak in dinner at Genghis Khan for some Mongolian BBQ, then head out to meet the post rehearsal dinner crowd. Saturday is the wedding and then I think I’ll putter around somewhere on Sunday until our flight out so Jason can spend some time with his brother.

sick again
And again I have a cold/sinus problem. I was able to make it through a couple hours at work today, and I’ll probably call in tomorrow and rest. I know how I usually feel during these things and it definitely gets worse than how I feel today.
I hate being sick. It makes me do things like eat pints of Ben & Jerry’s and watch Gossip Girl.
