Cornerstone.

Once upon a time, life was easier.

Black and White Miscellany - The Cornerstone Kids, 2000.

If it wasn't for a death, I wouldn't have seen any of these people in the past year. I hope they're all doing well.

You'd never know it, but buddy I'm a kind of poet.

Top 5 Reasons to Stay Up Till 6:30am By Myself:

1. Dancing around alone in the dark living room listening to Frank Sinatra sing "One For My Baby"
2. Dancing around alone in the dark living room listening to Frank Sinatra sing "They Can't Take That Away From Me"
3. Dancing around alone in the dark living room listening to Frank Sinatra sing "Fly Me To The Moon"
4. Dancing around alone in the dark living room listening to Frank Sinatra sing "I Get A Kick Out of You"
5. Dancing around alone in the dark living room listening to Frank Sinatra sing "One For My Baby"

If only I had a hitokiri to dance with!

It’s quarter to three,
There’s no one in the place ’cept you and me
So set ’em’ up joe
I got a little story I think you oughtta know

We’re drinking my friend
To the end of a brief episode
So make it one for my baby
And one more for the road

I know the routine
Put another nickel in that there machine
I’m feeling so bad
Won’t you make the music easy and sad

I could tell you a lot
But you gotta to be true to your code
So make it one for my baby
And one more for the road

You’d never know it
But buddy I’m a kind of poet
And I’ve got a lot of things I wanna say
And if I’m gloomy, please listen to me
Till it’s all, all talked away

Well, that’s how it goes
And joe I know you’re gettin’ anxious to close
So thanks for the cheer
I hope you didn’t mind
My bending your ear

But this torch that I found
It’s gotta be drowned
Or it soon might explode
So make it one for my baby
And one more for the road

holy girl, don't get up

As much as I hated to turn AJ down, I'm staying in KC for the weekend. By the time I talked to him and got everything confirmed it was already 4:30 and it would have been around 10 for I hit OKC. Given, that's when the party would really start, but whatever. I get to stay and have dinner with Keaton and one of his coworkers and her husband instead. Just so long as I don't have to do anything that involves people in costumes, I'm good.

As for the current webcam picture:

Holy girl
Don't get up
For running

Stay with me
I feel sad
When you run

Sands of time
Are lying
On my chest

Stay in bed
I feel sad
When you run

Stay like this
On the hills
Of my chest

Don't wake up
I feel strange
When you go

Stop the night
Hold me tight
Holy girl

Don't stand up
I feel strange
When you go

robster craws!

Yes, Scotty. I saw the comment. <3 Thanks for playing!

Everyone needs to go here and watch the video to Morning Light.

So, is making a last minute trip to drop by Spessard's halloween party and then hitting up wherever they're gonna have EVOL INTENT at on Saturday out of the question? OKC's only like...5-6 hours away right? Am I totally crazy?

Don't answer that.

BOH!

back for the third time.

I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she was gonna meet her connection
At her feet was a footloose man

You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you might find
You get what you need

And I went down to the demonstration
To get my fair share of abuse
Singing, "we’re gonna vent our frustration
If we don’t we’re gonna blow a 50-amp fuse"

You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need

I went down to the chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled
I was standing in line with mr. jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to mr. jimmy
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"
I said to him

You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You get what you need
You get what you need--yeah, oh baby

I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands

You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find

You get what you need

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are dirty fucking liars.

...i get a kick though it's clear to me

Today's reason to celebrate? The purchase of my first ever 36D bra, facilitated by the Victoria's Secret in Town Center Plaza and the $25 gift card I got for being a super awesome person at work. It's bright blue and actually fits, and I'm sure there'll be plenty of pictures.

Lemme tell you, there's nothing like the first day in a satin bra. It's like Heaven for your funbags.

Tonight Keaton and I watched Friday Night Lights which made me miss living in a small town and how football will never be as great as it is when you're 17. There's nothing like it. The shakey camera effects actually worked very much in favor on this movie, and even though I knew the whole story, it came across as very genuine. Tim McGraw did a wonderful job playing an angry alcholic Al Bundy character. (Assonance anyone?) I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good sports story.

I watched Anchorman with Scott last night. It was okay. Not so funny, it moreso made me just want to watch Old School again. However, I can say this because I know Scott does not read this because he hates me ;)

On the other fronts, I'm still working on getting gallery updated to fit in the courtneyporn.com layout, which I'll probably work more on tonight. However, OMG 34 DAYS TILL ERIC and then OMG 146 DAYS TILL I'M 21.

That is all.

sick...again!

This is my 100th entry. You'd think with as long as I've had this thing it would have came sooner.

So, I came home a bit ago from work after about 45 minutes.

Fucking antibiotics.

Lately I've been having some issues with my mouth hurting and having a huge swollen area of gums in the back making it hard and uncomfortable to eat. My last dentist in Tulsa took xrays and heavily encouraged me to get my wisdom teeth cut out ASAP but I ended up moving here before I could make an appointment. Add in having to wait for the first of the month after 90 days of employment for new insurance to kick in, and then you get why I waited to get a dentist appointment until yesterday morning.

So I go in fill out my paperwork and they look at my swollen bleeding gums. Apparently everything back there is so aggrivated by my wisdom teeth that it's infected and swollen and slowly taking over my second molars. He's suggested surgically removing the excess gum tissue to prevent any further infection and to hopefully inhibit the swelling until I can get the good old wisdom teeth removed.

Luckily for me, infection related pain is treated with Vicodin. Woo.

Unlucky for me, it's also treated with an antibiotic that found me in the handicapped bathroom at work regurgitating anything my stomach could find inside my body about 10 minutes after I arrived. The joys of being allergic to penicillin.

I've got another appointment tomorrow for a complete cleaning and more xrays. Until then, I'm sticking with the Vicodin.

---

Jason, you are my hero for installing gallery. Thanks to Jason, courtneyporn.com is one step closer to where it needs to be.

/afk reading how to customize gallery.

If anyone wants to help me, plz let me know!

Also, people who want to trade cds need to email me with their address so I can get mine out soon.

let it fall

So, who wants to go skydiving with me?

You have until March.

Hey look, I'm not weighed down
As I walk through
The glowing wheat fields churning on the ground
As all the ravens fly away
They leave nothing
But the sun and endless blue day

I always knew I felt this way
But couldn't find the time to say
To myself I've got to let it go
Through all the joy and all the pain
With the drought and the rain
The honest truth is all I want to know

Let it fall
Let go

My kingdom's walls have fallen down
But I know that
I don't wear an undeserved crown
And though it seemed to fit me well
Underneath it
I would certainly fall down

Last summer we left things unsaid
That should be now a long time dead
And now it seems that time has put it well
The words can chase away a friend
But to a lie they'll bring an end
And throw it down the darkest, deepest well

Let it fall
Let go

Let it fall
Let go

Let it fall
Let go

Let it fall
Let go

musicology.

So, the aforementioned Zack has pulled me into his latest project. Templated mixed cds. I can't wait. You should do this too, in this format:

1. A song from the last record you bought
2. A blues: not necessarily a blues record but a song that is labelled (something) blues
3. A song that gets you going in the morning
4. A song that you think is romantic
5. One of the earliest records that you can remember listening to.
6. A song that you discovered from a film
7. A song from your favourite band / artist
8. A song from an artist band that you otherwise don't like, but like this one
9. A song that has sentimental value to you
10. A song that makes you laugh / you find funny
11. A really good cover song
12. A song that reminds you of school days
13. A song from an artist that you are embarrassed to admit you like
14. Whatever it is, it's got to be funky
15. A song for those quiet rainy days
16. A song that no matter when you hear it makes you 'Feel good'
17. A song with the word 'Me' in the title
18. From a member of the ‘Dead rockers society’
19. Your favourite 80's song.
20. Wildcard

I totally can't wait to put Ain't To Proud To Beg on there.

I don't care what they say about us anyway.

And now for something different. Everyone meet my friend Zack, the sexiest music dork known to man.

So Zack, do you know how we met? It's a little fuzzy to me. I know we sat next to each other in class one year, but we totally blew each other off. You were just jealous of my 1337 skills right? Or were you and your friends just too busy grabbing each other's asses? How did we get to know each other?

Until I graduated high school, I was painfully shy, so I was never one to strive to meet people. You always made me laugh in class, so when the class was over, I added you on Yahoo because I already knew you were good people and voila. (In short, Zack = vag)

Dana and I taught the class...did you learn anything at all from us? And for the record, you, Chris and Steven were always pretty loud and clique like. I never got the shy vibe. I totally should have hit on you then took your virginity after the prom.

Totally. I was all about html for while. I never understood tables though.. I still don't to be honest.

It seems your life has been very Big Lewbowski. How would you rate The Big Lebowski?

10/10 - My favorite Coen Bros. movie. Eight year olds, dude.

Nobody fucks with the ???

Jesus! Busch league psyche-out stuff!

Explain the Weezer obsession? How did it really happen?

It all goes back to 1995. The Windows 95 cd contained the music video for "Buddy Holly". I thought it was pretty rad so I bought the Blue album and casually listened to it. I was only ten, so the novelty wore off pretty quick and I was back to playing Street Fighter II and running through puddles. In 2001 hype surrounded the band as they were about to release the Green album after a five year hiatus. I got caught up in the hype and decided to give them another try. I got Pinkerton and it changed my life. I'd fallen for a girl who didn't really dig my chili in return, so when I heard El Scorcho, it was like he was singing to me and only me. The more I listened to the album, the more I related to his lyrics. Songs like Across the Sea, The Good Life, and Falling for You were songs that I related to. They described the situations I was in. Rivers Cuomo had been exactly where I was. Words can't explain what that record did for me. Wait, I take all that back. It was the gnarly bassline in Say It Ain't So.

Whatever happened to that fateful girl? I assume she never bought a weezer cd? And why didn't you connect with Wheatus in the same way?

She boned (Can girls bone?) a few of my friends. That's all I'll say.

Yellow Submarine or Dear Prudence?

I'm more of a Golden Slumbers kind of guy, but Dear Prudence if I must.

Then what is the worst part of Revolver or The White Album?

Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey - ugh.

How many times did you really save the princess?

I was always more of a Contra fan. "The princess is in another castle" always pissed me off. I mean, why the crap would they send me into the castle if she wasn't there? Ok, the real reason is because when I was little the dungeons scared me.. a lot.. Oh shut it. Contra on the other hand.. oh boy.

How dare you mention contra without stating the cheat outright.

HA! The sick part is this: I got to where I could beat the game without using a continue! I didn't need the Konami code! Much spread love.

What song changed your life?

Collective Soul - Shine. I shant explain.

Resignation Superman by Big Head Todd and the Monsters is like that with me...what song changed your life that you can explain about?

The guitar solo in "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart" by Stone Temple Pilots singlehandedly inspired me to pick up guitar.

Did you take my advice on Simian or Minus the Bear?

I couldn't find any of either. Ok, I forgot to look.

Do I need to come spank you? Seriously... Simian - LA Breeze or Minus the Bear - Get Me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo. You will then understand.

Yes - I'll look it up tonite.

What is this about you and drums?

I'm the next John Bonham. Okay, not John Bonham, maybe Keith Moon..or Meg White.

You're going to marry your sister and become your own grandpa? Does this mean you're going to die young in a blaze of glory, cheap alcohol and expensive drugs?

Maybe I just want that wicked Bonham mustache?

And now for your bonus question:

Who has squandered their career more: Sting or Eric Clapton...Please also include one song title to explain why.

Sting: Desert Rose.

Agreed. Then there's that whole Tantra thing, but atleast he doesn't think he's American now.

and the four right chords can make me cry

Well, first off.

was awesome. I now <3 the pixies. I'm pretty sure I loved them when I was 6 as well, but 14 years has worn the memory of their music. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH JASON!!! <4<5<6

The weekend turned interesting after I met Robin at the airport for her layover to discover a delayed plane that landed her in KC and on my couch for the night. She was a wonderful guest even though I'm sure our regular weekend routine bored her. It was good to get Adam and JoLynn and Scott out with us for the night to eat and hang out for awhile.

Today after some Mongolian BBQ and a quick trip to Best Buy and Border's we finally headed her back up to the airport so she could get home.

But not before we got a picture of her with Teddy. Teddy is our house mascot. Everyone who comes in must take a picture with Teddy from now on. He'll be a legend.

We won't get into how when I left the airport I saw a soldier who had just returned with his family and how I started bawling when he turned and smiled at me as I tried to maneuver my little Cavalier around his crowd. And then how crying for him, turned into me being sad about all my friends who live far away, and how sad some of the people who live close make me, and how I'm my own worst enemy until I eventually cried myself the whole 33 miles home.

But hey, atleast I sang along at the top of my lungs when Semi Charmed Life played.

Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo...
I’m packed and I’m holding I’m smiling
She living she golden and she lives for me
Says she lives for me
Ovation her own motivation
She comes round and she goes down on me
And I make her smile
Like a drug for you
Do ever what you want to do
Coming over you
Keep on smiling what we go through
One stop to the rhythm that divides you
And I speak to you like the chorus to the verse
Chop another line like a coda with a curse
Come on like a freak show takes the stage
We give them the games we play
She said I want something else
To get me through this
Semi-charmed kind of life baby baby
I want something else
I’m not listening when you say
Good-bye
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo...
The sky was gold, it was rose
I was taking sips of it to my nose
And I wish I could get back there
Some place back there
Smiling in the pictures you would take
Doing crystal myth
Will lift you up until you break
It won’t stop, I won’t come down, I keep stock
With a tick tock rhythm and a bump for the drop
And then I bumped up
I took the hit I was given
Then I bumped again
And then I bumped again she said
How do I get back there to
The place where I fell asleep inside you
How do I get myself back to
The place where you said
I want something else to get me through this
Semi-charmed kind of life baby baby
I want something else
I’m not listening when you say
Good-bye
I believe in the sand beneath my toes
The beach gives a feeling an earthy feeling
I believe in the faith that grows
And the four right chords can make me cry
When I’m with you I feel like I could die
And that would be all right, all right

When the plane came in
She said she was crashing
The velvet it rips in the city we tripped
On the urge to feel alive but now I’m struggling to survive
Those days you were wearing that velvet dress
You’re the priestess I must confess
Those little red panties they pass the test
Slides up around the belly
Face down on the mattress
One, and you hold me and we’re broken
Still it’s all that I want to do just a little now
Feel myself heavy as the ground
I’m scared but I’m not coming down no no
And I won’t run for my life
She’s got her jaws now locked down in a smile
But nothing is all right, all right

I want something else
To get me through this life baby
I want something else
Not listening when you say
Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo...
The sky was gold it was rose
I was taking sips of it to my nose
And I wish I could get back there someplace
Back there in the place we used to
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo...
I want something else
