pulling at my skin

Nothing makes me happier than the song Crown of Thorns. It was a beautiful song when it was done originally, but the Pearl Jam version from the Atlanta concert this past year just is beautiful. It's done in a very smooth, almost tributary way. It's one of those songs I can listen to over and over. And much to Keaton's dismay, I do listen to it over and over. The same with Simian - La Breeze and Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait. Yeah I know. Shut up. I like those songs. Speaking of music, anyone happen to have a live version of Mudvayne - World So Cold?

Also, thanks to Fark and Wil Wheaton and the comments from the last wheaton post I found gapingvoid.com, home to my new motto. Fuck the poor. They can't afford me.

So much fun. Now I've got to cut the tags off my new work clothes. Everytime I go into Lerner New York I buy something. When they have fall sales, I buy 10 of somethings. Oh no. Not good considering I bought a webcam a couple nights ago. I've betrayed my cow. It's going to be connected to something from Dell. Let's hope this doesn't awaken skynet or anything.

audition

Nearly a year ago, well, November 1st 2002 it was, I went on a small trip. Bryan and I decided to go for a weekend to visit our wonderful friend of Fazed fame, Adam in Kansas City. Adam had these 2 friends that were a couple. I had already met the female of the two, Victoria previously when I'd ridden my first and might I also say my last set of roller coasters on a previous KC trip. This trip we were to meet the completor of the couple, Alex.

We arrived safely. We ate at Jose Peppers, we all became acquainted, we went back to Alex and Victoria's place. I was forced to play Magic the Gathering for also what was the first and last time. I kicked ass every time. Then Bryan and I sat out to let the real players play.

Alex put a movie on for us that he thought we should see. It was 100 minutes of boring slow building Japanese cinema. It was also 15 minutes of chilling horror that I will never forget and purge from my mind. I lost all control of emotion to a point where I was uncontrollably laughing at the most horrid site I've ever seen at that point. [Note: this past week's CSI where there was an arm lodged in a meat grinder made me gag and dry heave for a few, almost taking over in horridness] I will never look at piano wire the same way again.

I bought this movie tonight at Best Buy. Audition by Takashi Miike the Unrated Director's Cut, only $19.99. What the hell was I thinking?

oh yes.

I now work in marketing. I work for a nice trucking company in my nice town. It's a good job and it's a good company. I'm happy. And I'm making more money than any 19 year old should.

I've gone to a lot of doctors lately, and the main consensus is that I'm screwed. My back and head just don't like me. I have to see a doctor 3x a week for my back and I go in for a head MRI on the 1st. Lovely.

I also just spent $20 on my third copy of The Roots - Things Fall Apart. The RIAA should love me. That should also entitle me to atleast 40 free downloads of my choice for being such an avid buyer. Now if only this one won't get stolen or broken. I also bought The Last of the Mohicans DVD and the new CMJ magazine while I was at Border's. Daniel Day Lewis is great, and I need to listen to the CMJ cd so I can hear the new Bitch and Animal song.
