ugh.

First off, to the guy that bumped into me and said "I'm sorry" then proceeded to grab my ass and hang on like it was a life preserver, Fuck You.

Oh my god, I danced my ass off. I don't think that's happened since...umm...Spectacle when the old church on Classen was known as Sanctuary.

I went into tonight thinking I was going to have a bad time. That I'd spent too long in "the scene" and then too much time away to enjoy it anymore. That I wouldn't know anyone and would feel left out. And I was completely wrong.

Aside from FINALLY! saying Hi to Bucho when I saw him (I saw him at Chron's party a few months ago, but never said anything), I also got to meet a lot of awesome people from Edward's circle, plus got to know a couple of the other guys from work a little better. And these Newman and Murphy charachters are definitely keepers. But above all, I got to spend a lot of time with Edward's girlfriend Val. Absolutely beautiful, and we have a lot of odd things in common. She was fun to talk to and we both took off ahead of the guys and spent some time talking and in desperate searches for a QT and more bottled water.

On the other hand, I saw Scott from the very beginning and never went up or said hi or anything. It was really very weird. We were walking up to the door and Edward immediately runs over and says hi. I waved very slightly to acknowledge him, but that was it. Partly, I feel bad about it, partly I don't even think he noticed. I saw him at random other points and still kept my distance. With as alike as we are, we're both extremely different in outward personality, and that has lead to us being drawn to 2 very different crowds. The truth is, I guess, I really felt that he wouldn't want me running up and talking to him while he was with those friends. He never tried to say hi to me either though. Maybe I just shouldn't worry. I just feel like a shitty friend now.

Somewhere, just north of the Uptown, is a giant inflated rubber ducky with sunglasses. I stopped traffic trying to get a good look at it.

And now it's almost 3. I am not packed for camping. My car has not been cleaned out. And we have to be at Jason's by 7am.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Was gonna send ya gmail, but figured instead I'd respond for the masses.

First off, entering that place was nothing short of chaos (get it? ...) I had to wait in line to buy my ticket at the window as well as wait in a line for security. Then I was accidently in the "girls" pat down line and was then sent into the guys to wait even longer. (I told the girl to just pat me down, I wouldn't be offended). Amidst all the insanity I still managed to get a quick wave to you, and a handshake greeting from Edward. I had planned on linking up with you guys shortly there after only to find myself being dragged all over the place while Carmen and her friend tried to track down someone they were meeting there. Soon there after the booze and the joint that was handed to me on the floor took hold and I was quickly regretting not having eaten anything since noon that day. Needless to say I was thrown out of the place, given assistance to the door, and wasn't able to close my tab as a result.

All that aside, I had a great time and was sorry I wasn't able to hang with you guys more. You were more then welcome to hang out with us, in fact it was Carmen that initially pointed you out when we first got there.

Yeah, we hang with different crowds, but the only difference is their names. Everyone would have gotten along fine.

p.s.

You're not a shitty friend, you're just overthinking things ;)

How very odd of you to admit smoking weed publically.
