43 places

So last night, I started putting together my 43 places. 43 places is a sister site if you will to 43 things, which I link over <--- there. While making lists of stuff you want to do is by no means a new idea, I really like these sites. All it does is give me ideas and wants a place to put them, when I might otherwise easily forget the dream.

Now, the sad backstory. My family never traveled. My dad traveled. He pretty much fed us with Bass Master winnings for a few years while he went all over with his Quantum and Shakespeare 10lb. line. After that, he traveled for his job with the housing authority, always to native friendly places like Albuquerque or Hawaii. But as a family? Never. Once he and my mom took me to Silver Dollar City. I was 4. We never had an actual vacation. There was never really a reason, especially since my mom got summers off with the rest of us. It wasn't like we needed the time together, and well, I never knew what was out there that I was missing.

So, here I am. I'm 21. I've never seen a mountain. I've never really seen the ocean. I've been to Dallas a few times, Austin twice. I guess this is the farthest east I've ever stayed, aside from that 72 hour trip to Parris Island and back to get Sam. The farthest west I've ever been is probably Oklahoma City. I have this little midwest block that I've never gotten out of. The airport here is the farthest north I've ever been. Aside from the aforementioned trips to Texas, the furthest south was Stigler.

I've got to fucking get out more.

So, who's coming with me to Denver? I don't know when. I don't know how. I just want to go. Anywhere. For the love of God, someone show me a mountain.

--------

Also, I really hate editing my entries, but I just fucking realized that fucking
MINUS THE FUCKING BEAR is going to be at the granada in September. The 12th! This was after Mike messaged me after work to inform me the Kills will be playing there September 15th. $9 tickets to Minus the Bear. And they're playing with Thunderbirds Are Now! I'm so fucking excited! OMG! I never thought I'd get to see them. This is also a couple weeks before the Mates of States concert there

le pant. le heave. Yay! September is looking up. Especially since the most awesome girl in the world is planning on a visit. How much mayhem can I get into with a 17 year old in tow? Plenty. Trust me.

Try to get some rest,
count backward from ten.
You've gone too long without sleep
I know you won't rest stressed, so give up, just give up.

And don't say no to pills,
Ativan won't kill.

You said, 'My life's like a bad movie,'
And I said, 'It's true of all us.'
You said, you said, 'I've got to wake up so fucking early,'
And I said, 'Maybe the directors turned on us.'

Outside the five sounds like the ocean,
relax, don't keep your eyes open.
Don't look at the clock,
your brain will never stop.

You said, 'My life's like a bad movie,'
And I said, 'That's true of all us.'
You said, you said, 'I've got to wake up so fucking early,'
And I said, 'Maybe the directors turned on us.'

Don't say no to pills,
Ativan won't kill.

Oh, so I'm awesome now, huh?
I used to be an annoying brat...or I still am, we just have enough tact now to call each other whores instead.
Right? Right.

And if you don't decide on your own free will to take me to Ren Fair, I will find your friend Adam, we will drag you, and then put you into the stocks.

I promise I really do love you.
